IBM 6383/4583 16GB QIC 1/4-Inch Cart Tape
6383/4583 hasa data rate of 1.5MB/sec and capacity of 16GB per cartridge, (up to 3MB/sec and 32GB per cartridge with data compaction), the 16GB 1/4-Inch Cartridge Tape unit provides a growth path for the large number of AS/400s that use QIC tape for save/restore. It also may be used for alternate IPL, program distribution, migration, and 1/4-inch cartridge tape exchange.
